Driven by Purpose

At Chymir we strongly believe that actions speak louder than words, that is why we act first and talk second. We already decided before the company was started, that we want to stand for something bigger than ourselves, something that isn't just profit. Giving back to our climate, our forests and our wildlife is not an after-thought to offset our carbon footprint, it is planned in from the very beginning. How much money we have contributed to climate, reforestation and conservation, estimate of the CO2 we have removed with our tree planting, the adoptions and anything else we do is included in our metrics of success, and as the company grows bigger and more profitable, our initiatives will grow as well.

From our start, we have been a part of Stripe's Frontier foundation, donating 1.5% of all of the invoices our customers pay to research and deployment of Carbon removal and storage strategies. We are even planning to create our own foundation and hire for conservation analysis and research roles so we can better get an idea of where and who we can best invest in to make the money matter, because our planet and our wildlife needs it.

As made famous by several sanctuaries, big cat retirement homes and rescue organisations; if an ecosystem has a healthy predator population, it is a symbol of a healthy ecosystem, as predators depend on prey, and prey depend on trees and other forms of vegetation. If one of the elements is missing, so will everything else. It's the circle of life.

A Heart for the Wild

“It's weird to be so focused on building a company when animals like the African lion, Amur tiger and leopard are just... going away. We're a small team, and it's honestly a bit gutting that we can't do more right now, but we don't want to wake up years from now with a successful business and a silent world. That's why we're putting what we can behind organisations like World Wildlife Foundation, Stichting Wildlife and Kevin Richardson Foundation. We just want to get to a point where we can actually help. I don't want the only place left to hear a lion roar to be in a recording. That sound needs to stay real. We can't just let them become ghosts while we're busy looking at our screens.”

"What would you say to The Last Lion?"

I'm sorry... There is nothing that can be said about what humans have done to your kind, it is cruel and horrible that we are driving beautiful creatures like you to extinction and I wish we could do more to help and prevent it from happening...

Our Pride

In addition to donating directly to sanctuaries, wildlife foundations, we are also symbolically adopting animals. While an adoption is very costly, it brings us a lot of joy, inspiration and motivation to see these animals and know that we are able to help these beautiful beings. A symbolic adoption is a non-physical adoption where the animal remains in care at the parks, sanctuaries etc, and the adoptive parent funds animal conservation projects world-wide. Our first adoption was carried out in August 2026, and at that point we were still not profitable and the adoption was roughly 80% of our income, but we feel it is the right decision for us.

We saw Chris and immediately fell in love with him. We contacted the adoption center to ask if we could adopt him, which we could! We consider him a part of our team, he serves as our motivator and inspirator.

Our Habitats

Along with our wildlife, we find forests to be extremely important. A healthy forest absorbs carbon from the atmosphere, houses large and complex ecosystems of plants, shrubs, moss and other plant life, and fosters healthy animal populations. Together with several tree planting foundations, through one-off donations, regular donations, and company forests, we hope to make a meaningful impact on our planet's beautiful nature. This is not just about offsetting emissions, we see it as essential, not optional.
